Aunty Trace is here!

Here is Malia and her Aunty Trace making soup in the little house. It was such a chilly day but we went out anyway. By the end of our park visit, Malia's hands were red but she was loving it. She went up and down the slide, played with the bark, and chased daddy! During Aunty Trace's visit, she learned that Malia does not like to wear bibs, but she will tolerated ones that are purple or have flowers (go figure) better, so Aunty Trace was so kind to buy Malia a few that were purple WITH flowers! Those were sure to work. And so now every time she puts on her purple bibs with flower she says Trace! Thanks again Aunty Trace!

Visiting with DD

We were so happy to have Stephen's dad, DD, come and visit with us during the Thanksgiving holidays. He got a chance to hang out with us and see how much Malia has grown (and what a little monkey climber she has become). We did a little shopping and playing at the Seattle Center. By the time he left, Malia was able to call him by his name.....DD! See you soon DD!

Helping with Fall Chores

The leaves have fallen....and so has the first snow. These leaves are from our beloved Japanese Maple (we've got to have a maple tree since we live in Maple Leaf). It is really beautiful to see the first buds in the spring, then the leaves start to fall in the fall, then one day they are gone. Malia loves helping her daddy. As I look at this picture I think it shows our great fashion sense...Kitty cat pj's with a striped fleece jacket and purple crocs!

A Day at the Zoo

This is Malia and her grandma (or guy-guy as Malia says), at the Woodland Park Zoo . Malia loves going to see the birds. She loves all kinds of birds...crows, little baby birds, ducks, jays, etc. We have a membership at the zoo so you can imagine how many times we've been there already. It's a great place to run around, however since it is getting burr cold around here, we are moving indoors!

Cheese!!!

This is Malia saying "cheese" for the camera. She loves looking at the pictures on the camera. So now I'm able to say, okay first mommy takes the picture then you can see it. (it looks like she may need braces in the future!)

Pumpkin Picking

This is our adventure with pumpkin picking. This is our second year pumpkin picking in Seattle. Last year we went to a pumpkin patch and it was okay but we wanted sometime more substantial this year. So we looked online and thought this one place would be good. However when we drove up, our face said "that's it!". Oh well we will try somewhere else next year. Malia did not mind, she had fun. Her way of finding a good pumpkin was hitting it and listening to the sound!

my best friend kitty

Malia loves her kitty. This is a picture of her in our yard at the end of plum season, hanging out with Baxter. She ate so many plums each day, and looked forward to daddy coming home so she could go out and pick more. Stephen was the picker because the plums were a little high for me. Plus it was something that was a daddy thing. In this picture, Baxter is on the prowl. He loves to chase squirrels, birds, and sometimes mice. Once he left a mouse in Stephen's shoe. Stephen put on his shoes to go out and got a little warm surprise at the end. I have never seen him jump so high.

Hello! This is my first attept to blogging. So this is Malia at the Dahl Park. It is in somewhat walking distance to our house and she really loves it. At this park there is a little house with a bowl in it and she loves to make "ni-nee" soup. Who know's how she comes up with this stuff. (Actually I do know, but it's a long story).
