Family Vacation to California!

We took a short trip down to Laguna Beach in southern California! For those of you who are fans, we did not see Kristin or LC, but we did see the basketball court featured in the beginning and we were on the look out for that Italian restaurant they always go to. Anyway we had a great time on the beach just hanging out!

Isn't it just beautiful! Surf....sand....sun, what more could you ask for. It was a little chilly there, but it was still nice. We took a cliff walk along the beach, such a nice day!

We went to San Diego to visit our friend Keira, Alyson, and Jason, (and Shamu!). Malia liked the dolphin show and seeing all the fish and penguins, but the walrus swimming up to the glass was a little much. Even if it was southern California, it was a little chilly and we couldn't believe people chose to be in the soak zone. Boy did they get soaked!

Here's Stephen in the freezing water! He is truly a fish I tell you. The outside temps were in the low 60's so you can only imagine what the water felt like. But he had a good time. Rented a skim board and dove right in. We were the only ones on the beach....go figure!

Here's my sweet girl making sand castles. We spent a lot of time on the beach just playing in the sand and watching the waves.

Toes in the sand!

More pictures on the beach, bucket and shovel in hand!

Easter's Here Already!

We had fun coloring Easter eggs. But I think next year we will only do a 1 or 2 colors. Malia had fun dunking them and checking on them and really wanted to crack them.

See....we made blue ones, yellow ones, pink ones, and orange ones. There was a lot of dipping and oh no's! Malia had nice blueish fingers for a few days!

We went to an Easter egg "hunt" at the zoo with Larson, Brett, and Susan. But it was not really a hunt, the eggs were just scattered everywhere out in plain sight. Where's the fun in that? Malia loved collecting the eggs, especially the purple and pink ones, but somehow they magically disappeared (back on the ground).
We did our own Easter egg hunt at home and this was a real hunt. Stephen hid the eggs around the yard. Yes we found them all! No surprise smells to be expected!
